

Simon Nguyen
Assistant Percussion Director
Simon Nguyen currently serves as the Assistant Percussion Director at Trinity High School in Euless, TX. In this role, he teaches percussion classes and private lessons throughout the Trinity High School cluster.
Before joining the staff at Trinity, Mr. Nguyen completed his student teaching at Trinity High School and Harwood Junior High within HEB ISD. He has also taught private lessons and worked with marching percussion sections across the DFW area, including South Grand Prairie High School, Grapevine High School, Chisholm Trail High School, Boswell High School, and Vigilantes Indoor Percussion.
Mr. Nguyen graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, where he studied percussion under Dr. Andrew Eldridge, Professor Christopher Nadeau, and Dr. Joe Moore. At UTA, he performed with the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, and Maverick Marching Band, including appearances at the CBDNA Southwestern Division Conference (2020) and the Texas Music Educators Association Convention (2023).
Outside of UTA, Mr. Nguyen performed three seasons with Vigilantes Indoor Percussion and two summers with the Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps, serving as section leader in both ensembles during his age-out years.
His professional affiliations include the Percussive Arts Society, the Texas Music Educators Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Mr. Nguyen resides in Grand Prairie, TX, and enjoys going to concerts, gaming, and spending time with friends, family, and his two dogs, Luna and Sadie.
